Driver

Job Goal:

The Driver is responsible for performing routine transportation of materials and finished products as required.

In addition, it is the responsibility and goal of all employees at Valley Rubber to live and implement the vision mission of the company:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of transportation duties including transporting materials between facility, storage, and vendors. Transporting finished products to clients.
• Plan travel routes to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety and security standards.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Inspect loads to ensure materials are properly secured.
• Maintain logs of working hours, vehicle service or repair status, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

1 Year of experience

Valid Class A CDL License and a clean driving record

Decision-Making Skills

Time Management

Thoroughness

Customer Service Skills

Working Conditions:

This position requires an ability to perform local and nationwide deliveries. The duties of this position require the employee to frequently sit, stand, talk, and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
