Industrial Janitor

Job Goal:

Clean and maintain all, restrooms, and break areas throughout the facility. Janitorial work includes floor care, cleaning and restocking restrooms, removing trash, washing windows, and some maintenance or repair work on facilities or grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of floors
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition
• Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals
• Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
• General maintenance of grounds
• Painting
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and get along well with others.
• Outstanding punctuality and attendance required.
• Highly skilled in vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and applying finishes on different flooring materials
• Able to clean all fixtures and furniture safely
• Capable of maintaining janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
• Demonstrated ability of maintaining janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition
• Knowledge of modern cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Adept at using chemicals in a safe manner
• Able to operate janitorial equipment properly and safely
• Comprehensive knowledge of restocking supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Track record of finishing assigned tasks effectively within limited time
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proven ability to work effectively individually and with a team

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. In addition, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, including extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Typically, Monday -Friday 8 hours a day. May be required to work weekends and/or overtime.
