Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Goal:
The primary objective of the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to oversee all aspects of product design on assigned
projects for the Engineered Solutions Group. In addition, the position is responsible for significant contributions
to engineering process control, document control, and release processes for the Engineering department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Acts as lead project engineer for of all aspects of design and engineering for assigned projects.
• Plans and provides completion dates for engineering work in relation to assigned projects.
• Directs the work of design and drafting staff as well as contractors as related to assigned projects.
• Provides or guides field support activities as needed for project related assignments.
• Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and the Valley Rubber Core Values when directing and
executing project engineering assignments.
• Facilitates team design reviews for assigned projects. Performs engineering designs from concept development to final documentation.
• Contributes to the engineering, documentation, and information release process within the engineering
department, ensuring the process is held to an appropriate standard.
• Conducts visits to customers and vendors and handles customer and vendor calls and relationships during
the engineering/design process.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A minimum of five (5) years' experience in machine design working with CAD and mechanical design
fundamentals is required.

Two (2) years or more of experience in project management and/or directing others; experience meeting
deadlines and managing time appropriately is preferred.

Experience utilizing CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred), FEA, laser scanning and processing, and other engineering support software - as well as Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the week vary, but are typically Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly.

This position could potentially require evening, weekend, and overtime hours.

Travel expectations: approximately 15% - with some international travel require
