Job Goal:

A Trim Operator is required skills such as reading schematics, basic manufacturing math, quality control and technical knowhow. A Trim Operator performs typical trimming operations primarily from Large Mold Department, with some Small Department support.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Participate in quality, on-time delivery, and counter measure meetings on a daily basis
  • Effectively communicate with all three shifts, especially during overlap of shift schedule. Keep open communication with Department Leader specific to any scheduling issues, quality problems, and any general operational issues.
  • Label all parts of
  • Clean department as needed, keeping with 5S standards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings before beginning trimming operations and trim parts accordingly.
  • Quality check by using tape measures and framing squares to ensure parts are within specified tolerance.
  • Neatly place finished goods on correct pallet for shipping purposes to ensure excellence in presentation to our customer.
  • Make certain parts are placed metal side up when studding is needed before sending to studding area.
  • Practice proper placement of any product needing completion from an outside entity on pallet and back pad.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Ability to follow directions and get along well with others.

Outstanding punctuality and attendance required.

Ability to read and understand a tape measure.

Dexterity: Trim Operators work with their hands, whether directly manipulating components, tools, or knives.

Math: Basic math is needed due to the technological need of trimming parts within specified tolerance.

Mechanical/Technical Skills: Trim Operators need to be able to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and work with computers.

Strength: Some Trim Operators duties will require strength to lift up to 100 lbs.

Stamina: Trim Operators are on their feet for long periods of time often doing repetitious motions

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. In addition, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and Trim Operators must be available for overtime and work weekends when necessary.
